File Validation Utility (FVU) version 6.4

Addition of new columns under Annexure II for Form 24Q-Q4 with respect to Chapter VI-A deductions

  • Newly added fields along with changes in existing fields are highlighted in file formats which can be downloaded from TIN website under downloads section
  • These validations will be applicable for regular as well as correction statements (C4 type correction)

Changes in field level validations for field “Deduction u/s 16 (ia)” under Annexure II of Form 24Q-Q4

  • This validation will be applicable for regular as well as correction statement (C4 type correction) pertains to FY 2018-19 onwards.

Addition of new state (Union Territory) “Ladakh”

  • Newly introduced Union Territory “Ladakh” have been added for fields ‘State Name’, ‘State of Deductor’ and ‘State of Responsible Person’ in TDS/TCS statements file formats
  • This validation will be applicable for regular as well as correction statements

Addition of new section code 194N (“Payment of certain amounts in cash”) for Form 26Q

  • Same will be applicable for regular and correction statements pertains to FY 2019-20 onwards

Changes in validations for field “Name of Employer/Deductor”

  • Name mentioned in statement has to be same as available in TAN master database of Income Tax Department.
  • Same will be verified from challan file imported at the time of validation
  • This validation will be applicable only in case where challan file (CSI file) is used for validation of TDS/TCS statements.
