New version of File Validation Utility (FVU) for e-TDS/TCS statements is released by the Income Tax Department.
FVU Version 1.1 – Applicable for quarterly TDS/TCS statements pertaining to TY 2026-27 onwards.
There is no change in version and is identical to Version 1.0. It seems some error correction has been done in the earlier released version.
This version of FVU is applicable with effect from July 8, 2026 onwards.

TDSMAN has been fully updated with newly released File Validation Utility.
To update TDSMAN – Click on Utilities > Update Software
As per the software, we have to show the interest only in the challan details. However, it still shows a default notice.
Earlier the ‘Interest’ amount had to be allocated on the challan value. From April ’26, as per documentation provided by Dept, this has been discontinued. Now one needs to enter the ‘Interest’ amount in the specified column in the challan. However, the department is throwing up Default Notice. We understand this gap is being resolved at the Department’s end. We need to wait and watch. Would suggest you to call the helpdesk of Income Tax for clarification.
