New FVUs Version 7.5 & 2.171 released NSDL – 9th April 2022

New versions of File Validation Utilities (FVUs) for e-TDS/TCS statements are released on 9th April, 2022

The key features of this FVU is summarized as under:

File Validation Utility (FVU):

FVU Version 7.5 – Applicable for quarterly TDS/TCS statement pertaining to FY 2010-11 onwards.

FVU Version 2.171 – Applicable for quarterly TDS/TCS statements from FY 2007-08 up to FY 2009-10.

This version of FVU is applicable with effect from April 09, 2022 onwards.

TDSMAN has been fully updated with newly released File Validation Utilities

Changes in this new release is as under:

Addition of Annexure lll for Section 194P:

Income Tax Department have suggested new changes in Form 24Q – Q4 where, Annexure III is being added for Section 194P details. These changes will be applicable for TDS statements pertaining to Financial Year (FY) 2021-22 onwards.

Note:

  1. Section 194P has been provided for the benefit of Senior Citizens (75 years & above) having pension and interest income only. The specified bank handling Pension a/c of such senior citizens have been mandated to deduct tax at source and report the same as part of Form 24Q where in the Annexure III, the tax computation of each such eligible assesse needs to be provided. Once it is submitted and subsequently acknowledged by the IT Department, such senior citizens are not required to file their ITR.
  2. Except for the specified banks handling the Pension A/c, Section 194P does not apply to other tax dedcutors.
